We are thrilled to announce the hugely renown WA Day Festival returns to the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour on Sunday 6 June 2021!

Join us for a day of celebration of our Western Australian community. A time to come together to celebrate, share and value cultural diversity.  A cultural explosion featuring world heritage and culture, music, dance, cuisine and arts showcasing the rich cultures that collectively represent our truly unique Western Australian community.

A family friendly, free entry event commencing at 11am through to 6.00pm.

The 2021 WA Day Festival entertainment program will present an exciting, colourful and energetic panorama of Western Australian professional artists who represent our unique Western Australian multicultural community and compliment the majestic Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and iconic Bathers Beach.

Set against the magnificent backdrop of the harbour and beach, artists will represent Oceania, Asia, Europe and South America in a colourful, exciting and energy charged representation of our Western Australian multicultural community. Bali flags and bunting will provide colour and festivity to the event. Festoon lighting and colourful lanterns throughout Mews Park and Bathers Beach will enhance the festive atmosphere.

Performances will be presented throughout the harbour and Bathers Beach, including Mews Park, Little Creatures Brewing, Cicerello’s, Bathers Beach House, Char Char Restaurant + Bar, Kailis Fish Market Café and the grassed area in front of the WA Shipwrecks Museum.

‘Festival Carnivale’ will be presented on the main stage between Bathers Beach House and Twin Fin at Bathers Beach. The “Festival Carnivale” will comprise of specially curated bands and artists including singers, musicians and dancers who will bring to the festival a mix of high octane energy, a comprehensive Latin American music programme, choreographed dance numbers, lavish costuming and the theatre of “Carnivale”.

 

Smoking Ceremony WA Day Festival 2021 – 11am

The WA Day Festival invites you to experience the stunning and profound ancient Smoking Ceremony which has been in the Australian Aboriginal culture for over 60,000 years.

Presented by Neville Collard Nyungar Birdiyia.  Join us as we celebrate our community in a very special and unique ceremony in front of the majestic waters of Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour.

WA Day Festival Corroboree – 5pm

We are very proud to announce the internationally acclaimed Wadumbah Dance Group will be performing at the WA Day Festival Corroboree!

Traditional Bibbulmunn Aboriginal dance and music performed with fun, passion and power!  Wadumbah brings the Dreaming stories of the very first Australians alive in a performance that’s authentic and spectacular.  Wearing traditional Aboriginal costumes, enhanced by awesome Didjeridoo playing and the hypnotic rhythm of the tapping sticks, their skilful performers and traditional presentation will entertain and enthrall you.  An event not to be missed!

We are very proud to announce the nationally acclaimed Aboriginal Dancers Koolangka’s Kreate will be performing at the WA Day Festival Corroboree!

 

Hells Bells in Concert WA Day Festival 2021 – 3:45pm

WA’s most electrifying AC/DC salute band Hells Bells will be performing for the Western Australian community during the celebrations for WA Day Festival 2021 at Mews Park Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour.

Walking Trails Treasure Hunt WA Day Festival 2021 – 12pm

Great fun to be had at the WA Day Festival!  Follow the pink Andre the Cray trail markers around Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour where you will experience lots of great activities!

Lots of amazing shows and entertainment to be seen as you complete the WA Day Festival seaside wonderland adventure trail.  Lollies for all kids, big and small with every treasure hunt trail completed.  Bonus prizes drawn every hour.
